Redmi Note 8 pro increased display sharpness issue's solved!

Hey Guys, Below in this blog I have shared some of my tips, tricks and a  few apps for you to solve all those Sharpness, HDR10+, Miramar vision and all display problems you guys will face or are already facing after buying Xiaomi's Redmi note 8 pro, which comes with Helio G90T chipset.

So at first let's discuss, the major problem in Redmi note 8 pros display which is it's over increased display sharpness issue and because of which when you try to watch any media streaming apps(Youtube, Amazon Prime, Netflix and etc.) or any local media or movie stored in your phone, you will notice that something is not right and that something is the sharpness of the videos, it is mainly and mostly noticeable while streaming or watching lower-quality videos like in 480p or 720p it is noticeable in 1080p videos too but that will be little less bothering.

But here comes the data cap, In India wherein most of our home we have cellular data like 1.5GB or 2GB which is not enough for playing 720p or 1080p videos for more than an hour on youtube or on any other OTT apps and if you try watching 480p videos in this phone it will be your worst media experience ever and If you have bought this phone for media consumption then you might even think that your money is wasted too but wait we have the Solution, which will make your media experience in this phone very much like any other phone.

But First Reasons for this Problem
I would like to clarify that many people think that this problem is because of HDR10 or Miramar vision, So i would like to let you know that its not the HDR since HDR only works while playing HDR enabled content which is still pretty rare to find and is huge in size therefore most of us are not gona even stream an HDR video and to think of downloading it will not be possible since they are really huge in sizes like 22 to 50 GB's who would like do download such huge files for watching a simple movie? Therefore most of the time or almost HDR remains off, you can confirm whether a video is HDR or not by just lokkimg at the screen being brightend to the max since its a property of HDR to be very bright.

SOLUTIONS:-

 1.FOR LOCAL MEDIA

So first the solution for local media(any downloaded movies or any videos shot with camera) in your Redmi Note 8 pro is by installing MX Player/MX Player pro(for an ad-free experience and clean look)

Step 1- After Downloading Mx player or the paid pro version Open any local video in your phone using MX Player.

         Read:-
How to download MX player pro for free

Step 2 - Now after opening MX Player, tap on the screen or if the top menu is visible tap on the HW/HW+ option and after you tap on the HW/HW+ option a menu will open

Step 3 - Now in the menu, there will be two options HW/HW+ (it will be selected by default) and SW, now by tapping on the SW option select it.

ABOVE: HW DECODER IS SELECTED BY DEFAULT
HERE: BY TAPING ON SW DECODER CHOOSE IT

Step 4 - Now play the media you might notice the difference clearly (it is most noticeable in whiteboard teaching videos or any videos which involve handwriting in the videos)

MAKE SURE THAT IT SHOULD BE ALWAYS IN SW DECODING BEFORE WATCHING ANY MOVIES OR LOCAL MEDIA FILES, OTHERWISE, IT WILL HAVE THE ISSUE!

 2. For YouTube

Now, with above help, we have solved our local media problems, but still, we have this over sharpness issue with the YouTube app.

NOTE: since YouTube app uses HW/HW+ decoding, therefore, you won't be able to fix that ever because its an internal feature which can't be changed.. but..there's a trick by using firefox mobile app(but it has a problem too.. But don't worry I have solved that for you too)

Follow these steps

Step 1 - Download firefox mobile app and open          https://www.youtube.com and you are good to go but...
While you are watching you might notice that the video gets zoomed in and gets cropped to remove this follow below step.

Step 1.1 - Open Firefox app and open www.youtube.com and after opening youtube switch to Desktop version, which you will find in by clicking on the 3 dots on the top right corner(pictures given below)
                            Click on the 3 dots

Add caption
                      Tick on Request desktop site

Now you can view the videos without any crop or frame cut(only while in the desktop version) but if this zooming in and zooming out is too much hassle for you like its for me then follow the below steps:-

Step 2 - Open setting, then search for Display
Tap on Search Setting to search the setting

Search for Display then Click on it.

Step 3 - Now in display go to Notch and Status bar

Step 4 - Now in Notch and Status bar go to Notch in individual apps.

Tap on Notch in individual apps

Step 5 - Now search for firefox and tap on it.

Add caption
Search firefox and tap on it

Step 6 - Now select always show notch.

Now by doing this what we did is earlier firefox was unable to decide whether our screen was notched or normal therefore it was cropping our youtube videos frame now since we have defined its notched we will not face the problem. Yea!

                        Tap on always show notch

Here you can see Now firefox will always show notch.

Settings sequence-
Setting>Display>Notch and Status bar>Notch in Individual apps>Firefox>Always show notch

ABOVE WAS HOW TO WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS WITH NO INCREASED SHARPNESS LIKE ANY OTHER PHONE.

Is Newpipe an option?
No, at least in our case. I don't know about them but many people were suggesting about using newpipe for this but as I tried it, it didn't worked for me, So my conclusion for Newpipe is it is not working don't waste your time there

3. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Alt Balaji, and other OTT's

So guys as you know when Redmi Note 8 Pro launched it didn't had widevine L1 certification but now as of June 2020 it have it, The L1 certification and hence enabling us to stream in FHD 1080p resolution, but since all these OTT platforms use HW or HW+ decoders we can't do anything, So the straight answer is we can't use them as we used to do we have to use them with the over sharpened video or otherwise in my opinion torrent all the movies and web series and watch them by using MX Player.

IF YOU ARE FACING ANY PROBLEMS WHILE DOING ANY STEPS THEN WATCH MY YOUTUBE VIDEO EXPLAIN STEP BY STEP PROCESS VERY EASY.
